X8 Language issue

So ever time after the first time I've run X8 off this collection (which played just fine for me and had no major issues) all the text has been changed from english to french, the audio language is still in english but all the text is in french, and since I don't speak french thats quite inconvenient.

I've tried changing the language from the collection main menu but that doesn't change anything, and I've tried deleting the french language file in the mes folder, which just caused a fatal error and crashed the game, same thing happened when I tried replacing the english files with the french files. Is there any other way to change the text language back to english?

You can press the X buttom on the keyboard to change the language.

press the button in-game? my brother had this very same issue and pressing X on the keyboard didn't do anything

nevermind, i found out why it's in french lol
