X8 PS2 version.
I don't know about you guys, but I can say with 100% certain that Megaman X8 on this collection is the PS2 version. How do I know?

Wait time to save game, PC version had almost none.
Menus, submenus, textures of the life gaugue, icons, any image model at all, bosses menu: All pixelated and stretched specially if you use wide-screen mode. A mode that I could use without problem with the PC release.
Lack of customization: You can't choose the language you're playing and the voice you're gonna hear. You can only choose the "version of the release game", that was inexistent on PC version.
X, Zero, AXL have 3D models ported from the PC original release but everything else, including some textures are from the PS2 version.
The text and artwork on the speech are pixelated just like the menus, something that would never happen on the X8 edition. To tell you the truth, untill 2013 I could play megaman X8 on PC (the PC edition) almost without problem at all. Everything was flawless on that edition, the text wasn't pixelated or anything weird like that. The fact that X and company have 3D models well done but all the menus that surround the models on the Boss selection screen makes so obvious this is the PS2 edition. It's sad that I can go now and download almost 1GB of an old game PC edition (because it's almost impossible to buy that game today) and have a better version of this game, even the movies are better on the PC release, without compression. It's sad that the only way to get the game and pay for it, it's a freaking emulation. It's not even a port, it's a bad emulation! The game has a freaking slow down! A Slow ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ down, in parts I never had with a simple GPU with 200MB, now I have a freaking Radeon R9280 with 3GB and all, and the freaking game is having slow down issues just like the PS2 had!

Really Capcom, I was hoping too much it seems, to want the PC editions of these games to come with the freaking PC EDITION of the Legacy Collection.

This will not change, I'm sure of it, after all the work is done, but it's sad. The only problem with the original release of Megaman X8 is that the game runs at an old directX and that version can't recognize the triggers on an Xbox Controller.

But, as I play the "Ps2 low quallity" of one of the games I like the most in this collection, having problems looking through the weird bad quallity menus, pixelated dialogues while the 3D models of X are so shiny and beautifull it looks out of place, having slow downs where I never had with a lower GPU on the PC version of this game, is really sad.

I'm going to try and make the X8 PC to work on Windows 10 just to see if I'm being a crazy guy, but I'm really upset with this collection. I would expect the emulated games on the consoles, but on PC? I was waiting for something good. Really.

Good morning. Everyone knows that it's a PS2 version. X6 and x7 also had a PC release, but the games in this collection are emulated ps1 & ps2 versions.

It's funny because I've been wanting to play X8 on PC (PC couldn"t handle PS2 emulator back in the day) for years and I NEVER KNEW there was a PC version until after I purchased this colleciton lol.
Oh well

You're not missing out on anything, especially when most of OP's post is wrong.
