How much metal to buy everything in X8?

It didn't take me long to discover the farming method of using Axl to shoot the robot in Trilobyte's stage, and taping the fire button down. I'm curious how much I need. Without spoiling anything, how much metal do I need to buy everything in the game?

Honestly, to buy EVERYTHING will cost somewhere in the 300,000-400,000 range, you may be better off doing the underflow trick to get the money. Glitch is blacked out, no story spoilers.
you need a life tank and less than 50 metals, it is recommended to have the life tank half full, you will buy life charge for 50 when you really don't have that much and something will happen, your metal counter will disappear and when you go to any stage, when you pick up one single metal it will glitch and you will have the max amount of metals which is 9999999

Thanks for the answer. After letting it run for awhile I've got 500k so I guess I'm all set. Also the glitch is patched in Legacy Collection, unfortunately.

The Glitch is Patched but you can kind of Simulate it still. Grab Cheat Engine. Open up the Game and search for the Metals amount you have. There are 2 codes that Keep track of these metals. 1. Tracks the Amount you will have after you collect the Metals. 2. The other Code counts up or down when you gain or lose Metals.

Modify the Value of the one that's Current amount not the one that counts.
and change it to -30. Now it will break the counter cause it can't go below 0. then go into a stage and get a metal then it underflows and maxes out the Total Current Metals and will count up 9999999 Metals.
