Is x7 and x8 ports as bad as review say? Crashes and performance issues on pc?

I'd rather own this on steam but I might try to seek out a cheap physical ps4 copy if theres issues with this collection

Both collections run fine on my PC. I would say buy on Steam, if do not run well ask for a refund, and buy on PS4.

X8 and X7 are the best versions out there so far. Comparing them to the original versions isn’t fair xD.

You can always get the original PC release of X8 if the stability of the much more recent Steam release worries you. The original PC release worked fine here (though the super easy trick to max out your in-game currency only works in the PS2 release of X8)

For those curious about the infinite metal glitch on the Playstation 2 release:

First you need to have a life tank and make sure its not completely full, recommended half full.

Second you need to have less than 50 metals.

Go to the the R&D development room and get a life charge for the life tank which costs 50 metals to obtain (even though you don't have 50 Metal to spend). The game will glitch out and your Metal counter will disappear from the screen.

Go to any level and collect some Metal, the Metal counter will non-stop increase (up to the maximum). Pressing the Start button to pause and bring up the player menu screen will cause the game to instantly count your total Metal and your currency value will now read 9999999, the maximum number of Metals possible in the game!

I dunno man, playing these games in widescreen is pretty sweet, especially X8.

X7 never had a proper English release on PC, so I don't really see the hate for this port.

X8, however, had a good PC version which they didn't use for the collection, going for "emulation" instead.

The models and textures in this version are actually much more improved for X7, and mostly X8. It’s a lot more than simple emulation
