Hi dev,

I am having trouble playing with a controller. I activate it from the menu and when I press the 'A' button to start the game, the game crashes. Any fixes for this as I'm currently playing with the keyboard which isn't my preference.

What controller are you using? Which version of Windows? Are you able to navigate the menu with the controller? Are you able to press A on your controller and go into another menu item (like Help or Options)? Does it give you an error message or simply crash to desktop?

I am using windows 10 and a wired xbox 360 controller. I have figured out the problem however, it appears any time I press 'A' it crashes to desktop but pressing 'B' it will shoot and enter menu's. Just a different control scheme then I am used to.

I'll have to look into why it's crashing. In the meantime, you should be able to assign your own button scheme via the Buttons menu that shows up when a controller is detected.

Are you able to assign the A button to the Accept action? (It will probably be as button "1" on the menu and not the letter A.) If so, what was the value before you set it?

Yes the controls were set the wrong way with action being 2 and cancel being 1. All fixed up now.

Good deal. From the sounds of things, I think that instead of crashing, pressing A was actually closing the game from the main menu since it was set as the Cancel button.

Yes, my initial assumption appears to have been a little melodramatic.

Even if it wasn't a crash, it still pointed out that simply exiting without any sort of confirmation was confusing, so I'll have to look into that. I appreciate the feedback and I'm glad you're enjoying it so far (saw your post on another thread).
