Is It possible to take Damien to Prom?

I started playing yesterday. I've done 3 runs so far. The first one was admittedly poor since I had no clue what I was doing or who I wanted to take to Prom. The last two I was focused on Damien. But with all my stats over 10 and getting what felt like several hearts with him, he still turned down my prom proposal.

I'm curious if anyone has taken him to prom. Does he ever go to prom?

I think I may be really bad at this game. But also it feels very random. Not sure if I should try again. I think I'll move on for now but I'm still curious.

Note: I don't like playing games repeatedly to get different endings, so this is less about the game and more about my play-style. I don't have the attention span to redo a game multiple times.

Umm, I just did another run (chose the short one this time) and I got a yes from Damien. I decided for this run to stick to my preferred locations for the most part, theater and bathroom. I visited the gym once to get some charm and the outdoors just for fun (real life fun not the stat).
