Emoji in Lower Left Corner?

When I was playing online with a friend, a emoji would appear in the lower left corner. It appeared to be reading the text box, and got angry when I moved to the next dialog. We thought it might be a way a player could indicate they were done reading what was onscreen, but couldn't find a way to interact with it.

What is it for?

I don't know anything for certain, but I believe it's supposed to be an indicator of when you can interact with the screen. It's happy when you can click, angry when you can't. That's my theory, anyways.

Maybe its multiplayer connectivity? Might show how stable your internet connection with those playing is.
