Ending Stat Requirements
After playing this game for 8+ hours straight. I seemed to have noticed to successfully ask someone out you need certain stat at 20+ per character. I could be wrong about this though; or it could be 10+

Miri: Money
Liam: Creativity (in an ironic way)
Damien: Boldness
Vera: Smarts
Polly: Fun
Scott:Charm

I could be wrong about some of those but generally you'll want at least to consistently raise at least on stat to 20 and another 20ish.

I had 20+ smarts and money for Vera, but it didn't help.

I think it's based on multiple stats. I had a similar suspicion but after a run pursuing Polly where I ended up with 30+ fun she still turned me down.

I also did a recent run for Vera and finished with 20+ bold and only 13 smarts and got a good ending (though I also did the blood ritual so that may have influenced things).

Haha, hold up, what blood ritual?

It's a special set of events that you can get involed in if you pursue Vera that leads to one of the secret endings.

I'm pretty sure if you achieve the requirements for a secret ending, it overrides whatever other stat requirements there are.

I got Vera to say yes (not a secret ending) with all my stats under 20, smarts at 16. For 2 players, I got Damien with 17 Boldness.

I really don't know what determines this. I once picked the correct choice every time for Vera (got the True to Yourself achievement) and she still said no, so I would be inclined to believe that there has to be some sort of requirements beyond earning points with them.

Yeah, I got Scott's secret ending by going for charming ending and helping him out becoming "king". Demian's secret ending is also going with his violent tendencies and Vera's special ending is being just as much of a cold blooded criminal.
I got Demian to go to prom with me by going for anything but bold.

I'm pretty sure the special ending which give you a unique ending photo (not just you and your date at prom) require you to proc specific events. Although it does seem you need two stats to take someone to prom.

Iv'e gotten the ones where you and Vera start a criminal empire, you and Damien fight, Miri makes you an accomplice in political intrigue, and Polly makes you do a ludicrous sex at.
I'm not sure hot to proc any specifically though. I think the Miri one requires high smarts.

I've only played a few hours now, but I've managed to get a secret ending and usually I get succesful endings. It seems like wooing someone is gamier then just having a particular high stat. The first time I played I tried to get Damien, but he rejected me and alluded back to an earlier moment when I picked the wrong choice during a scene involving him. This led me to believe that passing the stat checks is more important than just having high stats and even more important than getting hearts from interacting with the character over and over.

And the stat checks can be related to any of the stats for any of the characters, and obviously they're not always apparent what choice corresponds to what stat. All that being said, having high stats obviously makes it easier to pass the checks, but the stats themselves won't ensure you'll get a date. My strat is to drop the date I'm pursuing and go for a new one if I fail a stat check during a scene with them--seems to work out for me.

I'm beginning to think passing ALL of the stat checks matters too. I got both secret endings with Vera, but never managed to successfully ask her out to prom.

In my recent run my stats were +20 on both Smarts and Boldness but still turned me down, and i thought this might be because i failed ONE stat check. So I either have to pass all of the stat checks or I boosted the wrong stats (by that i mean, boosting the stats Vera doesn't like)

I still haven't figured out which stat does she like most though

I played a short game with a friend online (if the devs are reading this: we had no trouble at all, everything was working extremely well) and she went for Damien, she aced all skill checks and Damien was super into her in the dialouges, at the end her Boldness was only at 9 and Damien rejected her. I on the other hand failed almost all my skill checks with Polly, but since I went Outdoors every day (for the achievement) I was quite fun (due to all my failing I was at merely 15 Fun though) and Polly accepted my invitation. I already suspected that my friend was too low on Boldness but me getting Polly to accept was really a surprise to me, as I had a harder time getting her to accept before, haha..

I haven't been able to get Vera without a special ending either though and I never had a run where I got all skill checks right, so maybe it really is a requirement for her to pass all checks? I tried various combinations of high stats (Creativity/Charm/Money, Smart/Charm/Money, Boldness/Creativity/Money all around 20ish) but so far she's always rejected me unless I triggered a special ending.

Man, I'd really like to know more about the stat requirements for all the characters..

update: i passed all the stat checks (playing Vera's route still here) and ended with Smart/Bold/Creativity all at 20+ and she still rejected me x.x i have no idea what i'm missing. On that playthrough she rejected me with the "have you looked yourself at the mirror" response. Should I pay attention to my money stat more??

What about her events? Are you passing all her events. Make sure that you're picking choices that are in her favor. If you're looking for just the basic ending with her, then imo, pick a short game and focus all your attention on her. The stats you focused on last should be fine (smart, bold, creativity) and you will want some money (if you find that more helpful). You shouldn't have to get as high as 20, iirc, anything over 10 or 15 will suffice.

Another way that I found to speed things up is that you can play a 2 player game (by yourself), either a short or long game will work (long is best tho). Pick one of those two to focus on her and the other you can do whatever with (or choose to pick another character to focus on just make sure you give the first player priority). On the weekends, one of the two players will be picked and, if you've got enough hearts for Vera, she'll come to the second player and ask for love advice about player one. Pick the option that is most Vera like.

I believe you needed more charm. I think that a few stats need a certain threshold to get the default ending. I remember Mira rejecting me by calling a "peasant." I got more money and she said it wasn't that pretty the next attempt. So I built up some charm along with wealth and then she accepted my offer. It might be three stats though as Vera also seems to need charm and money. So maybe trying building charm, money, and smarts for Vera? I still think that there is a specific threshold for each stat. But I believe it depends on whom you are trying to romance. I think the non-lunchtime events where you gain points AND affection from your love interest are and indicator of what stats you need. At least for the default ending where you end up going to prom and don't have to marry an anime pillow.

I've had Vera said yes on runs where I failed two or three events (with all stats below 20 I believe) and I've had her say no when I succeeded every single one. However, this was one of my earlier runs and it's possible I did not side with her every single time in the earlier events (though I certainly did during lunch). I heard she's the most difficult of all, but it's a bit silly if the secret endings are more reliable than standard ones.

A recent run I had Smartness/Creativity/Charm above 20 and succeeded all events in her favor. Still nothing, though I put less stock into that one cause I wasn't as interested in getting a standard answer and started fishing around in the shop for stuffs one or two turns near the end, so technically didn't get as many successful events as I could have.

Actually there's a thought. Perhaps screenshot what she says so you can see if they correlate with a deficiency in your stats.
