Worth it for the singleplayer?
I was thinking about buying this game and streaming it but I doubt I can convince any of my friends to buy it with me. Would I get a similar experience by playing Singleplayer or would I be missing most of the game?

I think you only miss the fun of messing around with other people. For example, my friend had an event in which she could have helped me to get closer to my crush, but she didn't so I lost one love point (or whatever they're called).
The game seems to be fun for single player but it just seem even more fun with other people. You could also create a session and post it here in the forum, I'm sure there's more people in your situation.

Granted, I only did one run, but it was single player. I thought it was really funny. The writing doesn't lose anything of its quality. But I did feel like the experience would've been a lot better if I played with other people. Not that my single player run was bad, but you can feel it's meant to be played with other people. If you don't have friends to play with, try the official Discord server! There are other people there to play with.

you can also play multiplayer with your group only having one copy, just screenshare it and have them tell you what choices to pick for them

I still don't understand how this game is multiplayer.. what exactly are you doing with other people? Is this not a virtual novel where you read stuff on the screen? lol

solo player is fun but multi player is more fun because of the jokes and laughs you have with others. that said its still worth it.

Players can't choose the same location, and two players, of course, can't date the same person (unless there are some endings for this situation? don't know about those, though).
There are also challenges to change the order the players choose their location (quite important with four players, since the place you want might get picked by another player if you're last, especially at lunch) and on the week-ends, some events allow you to decrease a player's relationship with the one they're pursuing, some event might change the stats of several players, etc.

There's also the added bonus that this is a very funny game, and having friends to play it with makes it even better (if you've never played a not so serious visual novel with someone, you should try, you might be surprised)

Yeah I ended up doing it singleplayer. It was worth it to me if anyone else is still on the fence.

For me it is way more fun with other people, but single player isn't bad since the writing is pretty exciting. If you're worried about missing out on multiplayer events you could do local co-op and play multiple characters or screen share to your friends as someone else said.
