Defiance 2050, F2P, No pay to win, the game is a PVE Game. There is no pay to enjoy anymore, because everything that was pay with real money to enjoy in the original defiance is now free.
I do want to point out something, both games are a "grind". But its a fun grind. Years ago, when the original defiance had over 5000 players daily online on both servers, it was easier to level up and quicker too, at this very moment, its really difficult to level up so fast because there's not enough players online anymore. So hopefully with 2050, it will be way more players and when you join arkfalls, seiges, etc you can level up faster. But you also want to take your time leveling up and building your character and weapons up, no need to rush, just saying its going to be a grind. It does help with that XP boost though, and I'm not sure how that's going to work in 2050. In the original defiance, i only paid a dollar for XP boosts to show up every now and then all the time,so that did help me level up a bit faster.
Warframe also have Microtransaction Hell, but still is Fairest game on the market.
But, some stuff is fearing me too, I just hope that I'm wrong, but I really do not want to see same DLC/Shop crap as they did with Original game (last DLCs definitely were P2W, cos Items, which give some Combat advantage became usable in PvP modes too, but even in PvE such stuff is not a good thing...). But, as I say before, hope I'm wrong and they will not repeat same mistakes with this game.
Should see the official forums and in game chat. Yeah, they'll probably fix it rsn but since the devs are demonstrating the same level of tech skill they do in vanilla Defiance we can expect similar results in 2050.
Definitely not, most content was Pay to Play, DLCs had equipement which was usable in PvP and give slight advantage to DLC owners, also this content was not Tradable or Equipable if you do not own DLC. Also in last DLC they add items which give great advantage in PvP too, and even in PvE people did not take players who did not own that DLCs to the Instances, aka Raids, Arkfalls and Dungeons, so players without DLCs stay out from the game even in PvE, in PvP there was no chance to win against player who owned that DLC.
So, Defiance was P2Wish game, not exactly P2W and still enjoyable if you spend money to the Shop and not into DLCs, but in last Updates it became heavily P2W, btw, this was the reason why so many players drop the game, cos mass did not own that DLCs and then even DLC owners stay out of players to play content of the game.
Shortly, Exactly their Ugly model kill the game (you can say, that game is not dead, but try, go in and find group to play group content....)
Btw, P2W in modern meaning is not used just to explain "Pay and Win" or "if do not pay, then do not win", but is mentioned as a Paywall content which give Gameplay advantage over players who do not spend money on This specific content, and no matter game is PvP or PvE, when game have Gameplay content hidden behind paywalls and which divide players, than it's P2W as a tern and not as an abbreviation.
Also Defiance have PvP content too and it was quite popular content.
