Some people saying their game pretty much run crash-free in either its DirectX 11 or Vulkan modes, but game goes into slightly unstable state upon switching to DirectX 12 mode!
DX12 seems to have more vibrant colors, almost HDR-like. And the graphics have more details. I tested both DX11 and DX12 on the upgraded PC to confirm this without changing any graphics settings.
DX12 IS slightly better looking but crashy after about 30 minutes
DX11 doesn't even start the game for me
Vulkan supposedly delivers less FPS than the other two but is buttery smooth and stable for me @ 60fps
Seems like it's just down to your individual PC, so experiment with all three and see what works best for you.

I use dx11. Dx12 messes up all the lighting and causes the game to crash all the time. Dx11 works completely fine with zero issues. Ive never used vulcan.
Because if that's the case you're likely looking at something non-optimal.
Software plays it safe, and doesn't necessarily give you the best choices for your exact setup.
I even have games released in the 2000's which still choose medium graphics settings by default (whilst claiming that's what's recommended for my 2025 hardware). xD
Don't let the devs set up your game for you. Make your own choices. You know your PC (and preferences) better than they do.
