They haven't had enough money for peer2peer 16 multiplayer map development with permanent server-side progression. A game like that would be my favorite for years :lunar2019piginablanket:

I guess I'll have to wait for GTA6. Hopefully, its characters won't be as ugly as in GTA5 :lunar2019crylaughingpig:

Characters were a bunch of safe space millennials <--- They were a bad caricatures of safe space millennials.
Maybe US has them, but to my knowledge these weirdos aren't even a big chunck of younger generation and to that they were all....bad and weird.
Kev was cool but i couldn't imagine him being a trigger happy criminal. Same goes for others but they were how to put it....boring.
The main guy was a cringe fest in my opinion, previous MC in saints row was sort of badass cool this one was awkward and inconherent. Let's remember MC in SR2,3 and even 4.
Psychopathic killing machine with some arrogance and bravado and medium intelligence with some sparks of genious. SR 2022 - Awkward kid, with lameness to it who has inchonherent character which shifts from psycho maniac to mega hippy, some may say it is a symphtom of crazyness but to me it was inconherent writting.

And talk about the missions. In SR 2 and other SR's you had plenty of time and missions (dialogues) to grow fond of characters. Shaundi, Pierce and Gat. In SR 2 you had plently of time to get to know them. Disliked Shaundi at first then somehow she grew on me.
Pierce, damn probabley my favourite crew member. Especially liked singing duets.
And Gat, sadly he comes 2nd for me maybe if i played SR1, things would change but his absence in SR3 and late appearance in SR4 made me forget about him 1.5 of the game.

What do we know about 2022:
Kev disco-chef
Neenah mechanic-art enjoyer(Bad arts enjoyer)
Eli Capitalist......Oh and enjoyer of motivational speakers and LARP.
No back stories and not much stories DURING the game with them. Just some 4 friends who happen to work for opposing criminal organizations. Ohh and the ghost pepper night which we must not speak about......
It was a project doomed to fail since it's announcement, pulling a turn coat by trying to hype up fans with a promised return to form, but once it was revealed people criticized it and they were pretty much told to take a hike. The community manager was a smug punk that constantly antagonized and insulted fans, going as far as to call them "terrorists" (don't condone how she was threatened). Long time Saint's fans like Flippy and Mrsaintsgodzilla came forward explaining the build they had played, stating it was nothing like the final product, so going off of that there was a lot of interference from the publisher, potentially hoping to market it to a "modern audience". A lot of people use the tired, baseless argument of it being "woke", I call it out of touch and uninspired, trying to cash in on social trends that are seen everywhere nowadays on social media, pandering to a degree which inevitably muddled any real creativity and originality, mostly playing it "safe" going as far as to avoid gang culture entirely. I know that's a mouthful but if it were a meme, it's quite literally the "hello fellow kids" meme.
What I personally disliked about the game were the bugs. which are crazy. The combat is nowhere near as fun or good as the previous games were. The hit box felt very off because I would shoot someone dead in my cross hair 4 or 5 times and only a bullet or two will hit them (I did remove any aim assist), and the desert setting made the game look very bland. Not enough NPCs walking around so it made the desert seem very empty and dead a lot of the time. The cars felt very floaty, which you can say the same about all of the SR games but, this game feels like a Tony Hawk game where I can do backflips and 360s in midair if my car was airborne. Grinding for cash to level up your weapons or buy upgrades and clothing wasn't fun at all and was more of a chore than anything, especially when trying to buy the higher end clothing.

The game can still be fun though. The humor is very hit or miss and I really hated the whole "Friendship is magic" message that the game carried the entire time. It felt like I was playing a gangster version of Kingdom Hearts. The OST is nice and so are the radio picks. The Nuclear Blast radio station has the best metal songs I have heard in a SR games since SR2. Some jokes made me roll my eyes. Ok, MOST jokes made me roll my eyes. The "Boss" in this game is just a dork, and not a very likable one like The previous bosses.

The character customization for the female boss in this game are pretty horrendous. No animations separate the male and female so, you have the female boss walking around like a 6ft tall male the whole time and the clothing options for the male and female in the game are pretty bad as well.

TLDR: Game lacks everything that the previous games did but I like the radio station music and OST.

From what we know, development was killed and restarted under different management a few times. Doesn't even need to be publisher interference but just a changing of the guard internally. SR5 churned through a LOT of people at Volition and likely left a lot of inexperienced people in positions they weren't ready for.
