What's the future of this game?
I'm genuinely asking, as Volition was shut down, is the game going to be abandoned or picked up by another studio? What are your thoughts?

I know I played them all, except for Agents of Mayhem, SR2 is my favourite but I didn't hate the reboot, otherwise I wouldn't be playing it right now. It's sad to see Volition shut down like this...

Off the top of my head, Insomniac might be a good choice.
They're good at making grounded dramatic stories with Spider-Man, while being over-the-top and goofy at the same time with Ratchet & Clank and Sunset Overdrive.

The last DLC came out just prior to Steam launch so it was already done aside from possible bugfix patches. I'd expect the halloween DLC might still get released. Since it was already done.

well, it's Embracer's IP, so, whoever they chose to manage it, if they even want to

it was barely a week after Steam's launch, that was fast...

Dead and buried, they'll not spend anymore money on this, if anything they might release any close to finish DLC and that's it.

Hopefully Embracer hands the IP to a competent company so we could see something like SR1 - SR2 again.

Telltale games went broke and games were unavailable for quite sometime then another publisher came and brought em back.

The gollum developers went broke as well, but most their point n click titles still up.

It was abandoned before it was made, it never had a intent to be anything but a speech.

This game is DEAD. The only honest concept is if they sell the rights to the Saints Row franchise to another Company that picks it up. But if that ever did happen they sure as hell wouldn't waste anytime on this trainwreck of a game and would instead focus on a completely different game altogether so this game is dead.

This is sad honestly, we'll never see the promised patch for saints row 2....

I read the article about it, it all happened so fast, one meeting was all it took to shut down the studio....

I remember the telltale games fiasco, the game were even that bad, I understand that people hate the reboot but losing a studio over it is insane

Play Agents of Mayhem, it's not super great but it poops all over this game. The abilities and flow stuff is just a gimped aom mechanic.

likely the remaining unreleased but completed DLC (halloween probably it) will be released, then that's probably it.

Which, I mean, at least they managed to get this game to the point of being fairly stable and content complete. Worse ways to go and definitely better than SR4 or AoM being the last one.
