I have a 6950XT and i am using the latest driver. DX12 runs rather smooth compared to Vulkan. I have put in dozens of hours into the game and only one crash so far. It's been surprisingly stable on my end.
1) in Bios look for PCI-E Gen and change from Auto in Gen 4 or 3. i use Gen 4.
2) Change PEG from Auto to Gen 4 or 3. i use Gen 4. i tested it today with straight 3 hours Gameplay with Saints Row in DirectX12 with Raytracing Ultra Settings on 2560X1440 and i got 0 crashes.
Oddly enough it only became a problem around the last 3 or 4 story missions. Prior I would only crash once in a blue moon.
I played for over 100 hours with 0 crashes at all, finished the story and suddenly the game crashes without warning every 30-60 minutes. It's annoying because I'm trying to get 100% :/
Pretty much same here - full game completion, all the challenges except finding that damn panteros Snake, and all achievements but the one co-op and the remaining murder circus endgame stuff ( so far I only have one character at level 6)
Suddenly I am crashing constantly -- spawn in, run over, grab a helicopter and head for the north desert behind panteros territory and I'll crash shortly after crossing past the Vacant Lot in Old Town West (in my playthru it became Wuzyerz) just north of meeker square; barely 60 seconds into the game.
Happens with DX12, DX11 and Vulkan all alike.
any useful advice would be appreciated
Firefights, fog, dust, high-poly count, high pass count (translucent/transparent)? No issue. Device doesn't even get warm.
A few Idols walking by? Possible crash. Firefight with Idols? Definitely crash.
DX11 performance isn't the best. Device gets warm at unpredictable times, too. Doesn't get warm with DX12 at all. DX11 allows me to encounter Idols without issue, though.
