If a franchise you 'defenders' loved where completely violated, ruined and destroyed and you were called racist, terrorists and monsters for defending what made the previous games good, then you'd be really bloody angry about it too! You know what? I look at Baldur's Gate 3 that without unlimited AAA funding was with released SSS+ quality. I believe Saints Row reboot devs didn't receive enough hate for sorry excuse of the game they released. And I don't feel sorry for them.

They lied. Do not take too much into account for the feelings of greedy people that lie.

This game sucks and is not as good as prior SRs, and they said they would honor IdolNinja's passion work by updating SRII, which they clearly don't even seem like is on a docket to do anywhere anymore.

This coming to Steam was my last hope they would hold their word to that, and still radio silence.

They tried the desperation tactic to save face by locking it to an Epic exclusive to recuperate as much of the sure-fire financial loss this turd was always destined to be with a cast like that.

By trying to incorporate everyone in such a "youbetcha we have that, too" way, and not actually having a true voice of it's own outside of "inclusive marketing buzzwords", it's ironically alienated everyone.

I don't wanna say "go woke, go broke" cos that jive is a joke, but I will say this is a good example of perhaps being too inclusive? It's good to keep an open mind, but not so open you have no actual thoughts of substance.

I dislike SRIII and loathe SRIV, but at least those titles have their own clear personality (and I cast stones at SRIV for reusing the map so terribly, but still better than this).
