I loved Guts Man's paradox that he posed to Wily, lol.
Subplots dissolve into nothing, but later they've been resolved. Major plot points come and go in a single panel where it isn't even clear what happened. They never even fight Sigma. He literally just shows up in a single cutaway panel where they say "it was all this guy's fault", and they never provide any sort of explanation for Zero's actions. Then they missed the whole point of the story by not ending it with the same line as the game (in Zero's story).
I loved the way the story was going at first though. I wouldn't mind seeing a rewrite that fixes this stuff.
That aside, the Rockman X4 manga sounds like it was written by the Mega Man X5/X6 writers. Not even sure how it's possible to screw it up that bad, like I always thought Zero's story in X4 was by far the less interesting of the two campaigns but having no context at all sounds much worse. Is it the same manga that has the Ultimate Armor turn X into a blood crazed maniac? If so, then I think I've seen some of the events based on the synopsis I read on the wiki. It sounds like a fever dream.
Then he gets better because General gave him a hug. I don't know, manga logic?
Apparently, Capcom was very involved with that show.
I remember reading the producers had said that things like Protoman being evil was actually done at Capcom's request, as they wanted Mega Man to be given a foil/rival and picked Protoman for the show.
(A couple years later Capcom created a foil in the games, with Bass)
The 2009 Eddie Lebron Mega Man movie.
With the understanding, of course, that it's a zero-budget film with 90's shonen influences, it was actually a lot of fun. And some of the actors were really good for an indie film. Dave Maulbeck, who played Dr. Wily, kind of stole the show, but many of the other actors had solid performances as well, just as more subdued characters so they didn't stand out as much.
Oh yeah, that movie was awesome!
Even more so that it was a zero-budget movie. (Wasn't that like a college project for him?)
I even love they kept Iceman's split personality issue from Powered Up.
The MMX4 ones get some mention but they're pretty much typical anime cheese.
