I'm also not a huge social-head. I tend to do my best work when it's quiet and without distraction, which is very easy to do with Neos, and then share it publicly, or ask someone to join me if I have a question. But for the most part, I tend to need the quiet to concentrate (ok, maybe some lofi tunes).
It's become my end-medium. What I mean is that I use a ton of other apps for 3D content creation, but I almost always publish them in Neos. It's simply so easy to go from concept to functional prototype without ever taking off the headset, and then share it with the world. I see Neos as a creation engine first, a publishing engine second, and a place to connect with others only when I need it. To a large extent this mimics the way I work in my day job as well, since I'm a remote worker at a fully distributed company.
I've also met many helpful, kind, and sincere people in the Neos community. Others are always willing to share what they've learned, and help, while being kind, patient, and respectful. And Discord has been a great place to keep up to date and see things people are making.
Overall there would be something very much missing in my life without it I believe.
Happy to chat more if you want to send me a friend request in Neos (sirkitree). Love to show you around, or you can check out some of my worlds and experiments. Search for my name or search for "Hex" in the World Browser, which has become like my index/homespace/webpage of published worlds. :)
The community around Neos is friendly and willing to help each other out, and I can't forget to mention Frooxius the lead developer, who is a really kind and understanding person that is always happy to answer questions, listen to feedback on what people would like to see focused on or solve a reported bug as soon as possible.
Neos has also improved alot since some of those reviews were posted as it gets updated almost every day, I can definitely recommend that you give it a shot
