Does your base really get reset?

I ask because I am considering the game while it has a discount. I have been considering is a while and I like the premise, but I read a Steam review saying that the game will reset what you build. Is that true?

As far as I can tell this only happens if you start a new game. It's possible the reviewer just ignored a raid and everything to trashed.

You carry the whole thing from chapter 1 to 2, don't know what they're on about. It even automagically collects all the waypoint poles for you, to use at the next destination.
