So I need stone, so I need to explore, so I need wards, but I do not have the mats for wards and don't have enough shinies to buy what I need. How do I get more resources if I cannot use a ward to go get more resources? I am either missing something or the resource gating is way inbalanced.

Also, why are seeds one time use? That is way too much to only feed them once.

you get the stones for waypoints and wards (potentially) from every monster, theres mich to go around

to get shinies you can harvest regrowable recources like cattails

and seeds - well, when I reached the second island with my girlfriend we had like 30 each to spare and 200 food in store, you'll get there

You have to upgrade your base to use lobster farms wich are infinite, the seeds are only to get you going.
Remember that the magpie restocks every day so you can sell twigs, leaves, plants or other stuff and buy ducktape or glowstone to make waypoints. I also always buy all the ammo.
Clearing islands of the thorns usually gives a lot of resources
There is also one craftable item that summons more enemies to fight....or just glide on the islands and enemies will be there.
You can also buy seeds from the magpie...nedless to say that the best skills to take are More items, better prices and critical hit(you get more skill slots as your camp advances)
