mystic arte trouble

im not sure if im dumb or doing it incorrectly but i cant pull off rita's mystic arte, yes the special skill is on, I perform the burst arte fine but when I hold B down, nothing happens? Am I doing something wrong?

Ancient Catastrophe:

• Must have the 'Special' skill equipped.
  
• Must be in Over Limit Lv. 3 or higher.
  
• Use an Arcane, Altered, Burst, or an Intermediate/Advanced Magic Arte while holding the 'Attack' button.

Indignation:

You have met a few requirements to turn Thunderblade into indignation.

• Must have the 'Special' skill equipped.
  
• Must be in Over Limit. Lv. 4.
• Use an Advanced Magic Arte while holding the 'Attack' AND 'Artes' buttons.

Hmmm I deff doing something wrong, I'm trying to use Ancient Catasrophe, and she deff has Special equipped, and in OVL 3, does her burst fine and as she's doing it I'm holding the attack button but nothing happens? Thank you for the info.

I heard from somewhere that the final hit of the final Arte needs to hit the enemy. Or you could try holding down the button by pressing slightly harder.

I'm bumping this because I'm having the exact same trouble. I have the skill equipped and I use Tidal Wave multiple times during OL 3 with the attack button held down and nothing seems to happen. I tried the MA's on other characters and she's the only one who has the issue.

Tried using other spell artes? Maybe I'm wrong, but I think you may have to hold down the Attack button pretty quickly after the tidal wave.

I finally figured it out for her while using Negative gate and what you said earlier. With characters like Yuri and Flynn the Mystic activates at the end of the arte, while with Rita it activates at the very beginning, so I was holding the button down too late after the spell started going off. Kind of annoying since it doesn't follow how the other characters work.

Glad you figured it out. It always feels weird that her MA strats as soon as the spell you used to trigger it is fired, before it even had time to actually reach the enemy...

I also had a hard time using Judith's second MA... until I saw that, unlike every other MA, this one can only be triggered from a Burst Arte.
