Please help me defeat this boss, I'm on attempt number 47....
There's no point in giving 66k life to bosses when I'm level 15

Gattuso is a total brick wall. It makes no sense how overpowered this Crash Bandicoot wannabe is.

When it comes to Gattuso, there's no substitute as far as I'm aware for just grinding it out. Instead of trying 47 times to beat him, run around and get in enough fights to reach level 18-20 or so for everyone.

What difficulty are you playing on? He's already way harder than he should be, so if you were on Hard I'd suggest going back to Normal for this fight.
Don't try doing his Secret Mission unless you're already over-leveled; around 18-20 like Devsman said should be enough in Normal, but it will still probably take a few tries.

For the fight itself:
- you can craft a poison resistance accessory from the previous boss' drop, and might have obtained another one from its Secret Mission too. These help quite a bit.
- this usually goes without saying, but focus on the adds first. They're much weaker and die pretty fast, but can be a huge thorn in your side if you let them roam free.
- they're all vulnerable to fire. Spam fireballs with Rita, if needed grind the spell usage a bit before the fight so she fires more of them in a single cast.

He is playing on hard difficoulty because he stated in his post that the boss has 66k life points, which in fact the boss has it on hard difficoulty.

Topic:
Gattuso can be a problem if you dnt prepare for the fight. For the boss fight the recomnend level is (depending what Equipments, Artes and Skills you using): Easy 10-15, Normal 13-18, Hard 20-25, Unknown 35+. Its possible on a lower Level but that requiers patience and practise.
The battle itself is annoying because Gattuso tends to run around and dashing. I do NOT recomnend trying the secret mission on hard difficoulty. Its doable but its not easy as Gattuso its like a truck sometimes. If you still want to try on hard difficoulty then you can do 1. Leveling up a bit and try to get better Skills and Artes and 2. make sure that all of your Characters spread out on the battlefield. Rita is most likely the best bet in this battle because as Devsman and darth already mentioned "Fire" base attacks hurts him more. If she is a A.I. be sure to "close/disable" all close-ranged attacks from her and eventually all spells except her fire artes. That way you try to use Yuri to attack Gattuso from behind (2-3 hits then cancel your attack and rinse and repeat. The reason is Gattuso is quick and most likely make "swing" attack. So after 2-3 hits you should defend yourself). Estelle should act as healer and make sure she keep distance from him. If Gattuso rush to her, switch to her and cancel any moves from and run away. Karol is a decoy so no ideal tips about him sadly.

Unfortunatly there is no gurantee strategy against this Boss on harder difficoulty. So yes best way to defeat him is on a easier difficoulty.

Play as Yuri and use wolf strike (it knocks down the boss)
thats how i did it. (also manual cancel)

I don't believe other characters can knock it down constantly. I had a 120 hit combo on hard mode (Wolf type bosses cant recover quickly from knock downs)
