mismatched buttons

I'm using an el-cheapo ps2 knockoff that is literally less than 10 bucks reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rulj3rhj4Ag

first of all I'm surprised that this game supports this old controller as most games no longer support this. maybe its more like this game is 10 years old.

anyway, my problem is that the game treats my X button as O and vice versa. same with triangle and square. can I fix this manually somehow?

Yeah, in steam settings there is a controller section, you can remap few buttons. Half of the stuff doesnt work properly though. I recommend opening the config with Big Picture.
Be aware, controller is currently not very well supported on this game, because when you use one, you use it only for "in-game", but "in-battle" switches to keyboard and doesnt let you use the controller anymore. So yeah "good" port

not all controller are supported by steam. This isn't a game issue. use 3rd party controller software like x360ce and have it map as an xbox controller.

I tried x360 and I can't get it to work when I paste the dll files to game dir.

The swapped buttons are somewhat common for el cheapo controllers.
Does the game even give you Playstation icons with it?

If you want to use it as an X-box controller, or already are, use Steam's Big Picture Mode and go change the buttons around in Steam Input.
Not possible with a DualShock 4 (must disable DS4 support in Big Picture Mode).

yup its an el cheapo and thankfully enough the game gives me PS icons.

yup its an el cheapo and thankfully enough the game gives me PS icons.

Give a look at my other thread HERE and see if you feel up to doing all that work until Special K can dump/inject the textures themselves.
If you are, I can make you a square/triangle swapped version of my primary button texture to use (start+select buttons and O/X is already swapped).
