Monster Book completion

I'm trying to complete the monster book but totally forgot to magic lens Adecor and Bocco's at the very beginning of the game. Is there any opportunity to fill that later in the game?

Also for the rat in the sewers but I figured I'd probably find more rats later.

You have to wait for NG+ to do that then (it's a very common thing for people to miss these, I did on my very first run years ago as well). However if you wish to 100% this game you already need at least 2 playthroughs anyway.

Quick tip, don't forget to scan Zagi, twice when you go back (once with Yuri solo, and with Estelle again)

The rats actually drop Magic Lens. I ran out using my last Magic Lens on Zagi Phase 1, really kind of annoyed me. Unfortunately bosses, like Zagi and Twidledee and Dum are one time only. Even future fights are considered "different" mobs. The only way to get them if you issed them is NG+.

Bosses, at least those with secret missions can now be re-fought later in the game.
