Can't use items

Whenever I'm in battle, the apple gel that u click to get into your items is gray and I can't select it to use any items :( how do I fix this?

Item usage have cooldown. If someone already happen to used an item, you can see the item usage cooldown at the corner of the screen (i forgot which corner). You need to wait until the timer runs out first.

Item usage in battle is weird.

There's the cooldown time, but then also sometimes you can't use items on certain characters, or sometimes certain characters can't use items. Or maybe sometimes certain items can't be used.

I think this might have to do with what the AI characters are doing, like if you have a character who is currently using an item but the cooldown timer hasn't actually started yet... or something.

Long story short, sometimes it won't work for not-obvious reasons, and if that's the case, try getting someone else to do it.

Now that you mentioned it, the characters can only use item on themselves by default if not mistaken. To unlock the ability for a character to use items on a different character, you need the "Item thrower" weapon skill

No like, I literally can't use any item I'm not even allowed to click on which gel or potion I want to use. I posted a screenshot if you wanna look. I don't know if its a glitch or something :/

Barbatos' ring, when equipped, doesn't allow the whole party to use items, blocking the option completely.

A meter with a short countdown appears on the top left of the screen after using an item, wait for that to hit zero then you can use another item.

I found out it was barbatos ring yesterday! I was so relieved thanks everyone <3
