(Spoilers) Did Yuri just contradict himself in less than an hour?
Spoilers ahead!

So you're on your way to help Judy from the Hunting Blades!

Yuri: And even though you're one of us, your answers will decide your fate.
Karol: Yuri... What did you mean about Judith's fate?
Yuri: If a part is infected, you cut it off before it infects the whole. Even if it's a comrade, an Entelexeia, or a friend.

[A few moments later at Phaeroh's place]

Phaeroh: It is sometimes necessary to remove a part to save the whole
Yuri: I don't buy that for a second.

PS. I've played this on Xbox and finished it like 5 times, not hating on the game, I love it. This part just stood out to me this time, never noticed. Maybe context in this scene sways Yuri's way of thinking. I also thought this was pretty funny due to the scenes taking place so close to eachother.

He never explicitly says he was going to kill Judith, while Phaeroh is saying that he would 100% kill something if it became a problem. Additionally, his arc with Judith is there to help bring him down from his vigilanty mentality, and that's what you're seeing here. Is it not paced great? Probably not, no.

Very true!

Yeah that's also true, quick responses, also!

Not especially given that Judith is acting in the "greater good." Its no more or less than yuri did when he took the law into his own hands. So yes its a massive contrdiction. To take it further, Phaeroh goes on about his solution to the Estelle issue and its the same logic Yuri used. and Yuri goes onabout Phaeroh being judge jury and excecutioner. Its like the plot forgot what Yuri did.

More often then not it's people who butt heads against people with the same logic. Phearoh is a mirror to yuri, that Yuri could become if he follows the path he's on.

Yuri gave Cumore and Ragou a few chances to turn a leaf, and they didn't. Pheroph on the other hand, doesn't care about the kind of person he's trying to vapourize.

So while yes it is hypocrisy against the ideal Yuri was talking about, in terms of subtle differences, it's these differences that Yuri makes his case.

I disagree because it's not like Yuri planned to expel or kill Judith without hearing her side of the story. He in fact does go find her and they work things out. I was originally stating Judith betraying them as something from Yuri's point of view at the time, since he didn't actually know what she was thinking.
