Anything restricted to New Game +?
Just reached Ehmead Hill (actually at the fight with everyone's favorite wolf) and was wondering if there were sidequests or some such that can't be accessed until a second playthrough. I ask because I'm kinda contemplating starting over and using a sidequest guide. Don't mind spoilers, I already beat the game a decade ago when it first came out, plus I know about most of the ps3 version differences.

No sidequests that I know of are locked to a NG+, only what bonuses you get out of the grade shop. As far as I'm aware, you can do and find everything in a single playthrough. Not completely sure but... relatively sure.

That being said, if you've only just beat Gattuso, I think you haven't missed any side events yet. If you turn around and go back to Aspio and Halure, I think you can clean up everything you haven't done yet and continue on from there.

The hardest difficulty "Unknown" and Yuri's second mystic arte "Heavenly Bladewing/Brilliant Phoenix" (The latter name was found in an unused voice clip) are locked to NG+

If you didn't do the secret missions on Zagi and the Goliath in Shaikos Ruins, that's already a sidequest lost. Mysterious Man part 1 sidequest is lost aswell in Deidon Hold. King of Adventure can still be done at this point aswell as Brionac part 1.

Every sidequest can be done from your first playthrough, only thing I could think of is a fight close to midgame which can only be won with NG+ but is not part of any sidequest, you just get some different skits for it.

EDIT: As far as guides, I recommend this one: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/241013-tales-of-vesperia-definitive-edition/faqs/76752/walkthrough-arc-i

There are achievements that are basically exclusive to a run. The Item Hater requires you to not use any items in Battle till you get a skit further in the game, which prevents you from using Magnifying Glasses to identify enemies which locks you out of an achievement for completing the Monster Book. Most people just don't do Item Hater in the first playthrough and then buy the skits in the Grade Shop. Then on your second playthrough when you can get to the place to view skits you can get the achievement for Item Hater that way.

Speedster would also be difficult on a non-NG+ playthrough, not impossible but much more difficult.

Thanks for the answers guys. Decided to use the guides and get as many of the sidequests as I can. Even managed to beat Gattuso on hard, so I've no further worries about this playthrough. My only conniption is Yuri's second MA being locked, but oh well.

secret missions can be re-done in The PS3/Definite versions at namco island as stated in my Secret Missions guide. The only one that is truely missible is 17 if you miss the mini event thats required to do it.

Item Hater isn't an achievement itself but is related to both Monster Nerd (as you noted) and They Call Me....

That said, Item Hunter is much less bothersome than some of the other missable as the title is rewarded for viewing a skit rather than actually meeting the requirements which h means you can acquire the title by unlocking skits in the Grade Shop.
