So who did they get to replace Yuri's voice actor?

They got Grant George to do Yuri's new lines. Troy's old clips are still there and Grant only voices the new lines. If you played Disgaea before, Grant George voiced a character named Axel for reference.

In my opinion, he does not sound too bad and from what I can hear based off of early streams of the game, the other voice actors have returned and sound the same baring some NPC characters sounding off at times. (Judith is the only main party's voice I have not heard yet.)

The reason as to why they switched out Troy is still unclear. I think they thought Troy was too expensive or something, but that's just a theory.

Union guy now. Union VAs are very very expensive.

If anything Union people want companys to be faithful to Voice Actors who've played a role, and to call them again for it.

Unless Troy, Bandai, or Troy's manager come out to say what happened, we don't know the truth. The only thing we do, is that Troy claimed he was never contacted by Bandai.

Bandai could have contacted his manager, and after failed negotiations, the manager rejected it without even telling Troy.

Considering they got almost all the other voice actors, me thinks something foul happened.

Or namco felt it wasn't wory paying him a huge amount with only a mere couple hundred lines and made an offer the manger rejected and said thanks but no thanks.

Whew, your title made me panic, I thought they swapped ALL of Troys lines. He's great in this game

He works under the voice actor union, thus making him much more costly to hire.

Voica Actors decided to form a Union, to demand fair treatment from game publishers (imagine it like this: the voice actor for Nico in GTA IV did not get any details on his role and was paid about as much as some random guy that just stands around in a movie would, without getting any royalties to top it off)
Edit: had to replace "game developers" with "game publishers" because it bothered me that I made that mistake

Just a little update. An early streamer just got to the final parts of Act 1 when Judith joins the party and it sounds like she still has the same voice actor voicing her, so it looks like every playable character's voice actor came back with the exception of Troy for Yuri.

so glad its my first time going to play this title, and will use original dubs, that way, no need to worry about diffrent voice actor for the same character.

(original dubs in japanese game clearly mean japanese dubs, just so people dont get confused)
