Is it worthy enough to play?
Hello everyone,

I can't decide to buy Tales of Vesperia.
I play jRPGs occasionally and finishing them takes a lot of precious free time. And I want to be confident that game I'm going to play is definitely above average.
I'm kinda new to 'Tales of' series, so I don't know what to expect from these games. I did enjoy Berseria till very end (bought it because of overwhelmingly positive reviews). But I postphoned Zestiria, because it became boring at some point.
Other games I recently finished are FF15 (absolutely not satisfied) and FF6 (my fav so far).
So, what do you think? Is Vesperia keeps you thrilled or you have to push yourself through boring stuff just to see few good moments?
I'd love to hear your opinion.

Vesperia was an enjoyment all over. While I loved Berseria's story and cast the gameplay couldve been refined imo.

As for Vesperia, the gameplay was fun throughout and the story and the characterd were also pretty great.

Definitely worth your time in my opinion.

Symphonia, Vesperia, Berseria, Abyss are the Tales games that are widely considered to be above average. (mainly due to the good story)

You can rest assured that Vesperia is 100% an above average rpg game.

Vesperia is a fantastic RPG that has a lot of features of classics RPGs, but doesn't feel out of date. It really is a wonderful game with a ton of content and replayability.

Versperia is Hands down my favorite Tales Of game. Every single party member is likeable and I think Troy Bakers voicing as Yuri brings a lot of emotion into the character. Good story and the solid gameplay of the series.

From what i've seen its a low budget Ni No Kuni game

That's what I'm worried about. My first Berseria run took ~120 hours (yes, I'm so slow) + 30 hours for post-story activities and some missed content. 2nd run is pending for over 6 months (guess I have to restart it someday). So I doubt I can afford several re-runs for Vesperia. I guess this time I have to prepare some non-spoiler guides beforehand.

Interesting, so this is a case when Eng VA is better than JP?
I did compare VA in Berseria and ended up playing with JP VA (mostly because of Magilou and Velvet).
Still I admit there are cases when Eng VA is way better than JP. (first thing that comes to mind is Danganronpa).

Vesperia is my personal favourite and I'd say it is closest to Abyss and Symphonia in gameplay (basically the most developed version of their combat system and equipment system). I personally felt the characters and story to be quite a strong point as well. It is also certainly longer than Symphonia and a bit on par with Abyss (easily 50-80 hours).

If you are hesitant to finish Zestiria, just don't do it honestly. I personally only finished that game because I had the time and kept hoping for it to become better, all the way to the end.. and it just never did for me (I'm aware some people like it, including my brother). At some point in life you've touched so many games you realize some games just aren't worth finishing and you just have to cut your losses. Vesperia is definetely one you shouldn't miss out on however, but you can always buy it later as it's a single player game with optional local co-op.
