Differences between the 360 and Definitive version of Vesperia.
Hello everyone.

I thought it would be important to make this topic to talk about and explain why this re-release of Tales of Vesperia is a full price release even though the 360 version has been out in the West for over 10 years so that people who are either new or returning to the game will understand why it is priced this way compared to other Tales games on Steam such as the Tales of Symphonia Chronicles for example.

This will not cover all of the changes, but it will address the biggest ones found in this version.

To start off, the version of Vesperia coming out on Steam (along with the other current gen consoles) is not based on the 360 version but rather it is based off the Japanese PS3 version that never got localised till now and with that comes some of these major changes.

1. The main story is now fully voiced in both Japanese and English instead of being partially voiced in the 360 version along with the localization of all the new content added.
2. Two new permanent playable characters for battle were added. One of them being Flynn who is now playable within specific story sections and permanently joins the party compared to only being playable in a single battle in the 360 version and the other one being Patty who did not appear in the original story.
3. Due to the two new characters, many old story sections had reworked camera angles and dialogue in addition to new scenes and skits so that the two characters are integrated seamlessly into the existing plot.
4. More bosses were added with some even being intergated into the existing main plot.
5. Some new locations, dungeons, costumes, enemies, and side-quests were added along with some changes/expansions to old locations such as the ability to do team battles in the arena.
6. New music was created for both the old and new content.
7. New artes, systems, and skills were added for all characters along with some general battle tweaks.

All of this along with the fact that the dlc costumes from the PS3 version appear to be included for free with the Definitive Edition's release are the major reasons why I feel that this re-release justifies a full price release as most of these changes will make the game feel new even for those that played the original 360 version.

If there is anything I missed or if you want to discuss more about this in detail, please feel free to do so.

Should also note for new-comers to Vesperia to follow a Side-Quest guide for this game.

There are tons of extremely specific triggers you have to do to unlock a lot of stuff.

You'll sometimes have to back track to a specific area earlier in the game within an extremely limited time period (plot progression wise) otherwise you'll be permanently locked out until NG+.
