Looks like another V or X, but maybe they'll go light on the isekai this time yea ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ right, ♥♥♥♥ animation and ♥♥♥♥ writing is all SRW gets.
One site said it was going to be on PS4 and Steam, but as far as I can tell that was a typo and it's PS4 and Switch.

I will say that the new editions for the SRW franchise surprise me. Cowboy Bebop? Captain Harlock? Neither one of those are mecha related ,they are more 'ship' related. Then again, on hand held systems, we got introduced to Tekkaman-Blade and Detonator Orgun, so perhaps Banpresto is willing to be more open as to who could make it into the SRW franchise.

I will say I did feel nostalgic seeing Harlock again! Good ol'captain's gonna wreck sh!t! heh.

Yamato just debuted in V. It wasn't that long ago.

Right, but at the time that was one franchise, so one could say it became a good exception to the rule. Now we got 2 franchies introduced that have no mecha in them so to speak, but have popular ships. Hence my comment of Banpresto now being more willing.

Eh, the franchise is starting to die on me since Z2. Main line SRW is really getting bad.

Also ISO/Android is getting an SRW game, SRW DD.

I just hope it isn't a ♥♥♥♥ fest like X-Omega.

Have any of the SRW games with an English translation been any good? I like the series, but I kinda lose interest after a while considering I can't tell what's going on. I'd heard they started translating them recently-ish, but I haven't kept up with it enough to know which ones are. Especially if they're on the easy side, the only one I've put much time into was W, which I've since heard is one of the easiest.

Super Robot Wars: Original Generation 1 and 2 have come to the GBA systems from a company called Atlas. Whether or not they're still being printed I do not know.

Latter SRW games for the PS3/4 have english options for english translations in them.

Oh yeah, I forgot about those. I played through a fair bit of OG1 years ago, think I got distracted by Endless Frontier or X Zone. Might have to see if I can pick it up again.

I beat OG1 with both Kyosuke and Ryusei. I haven't beaten OG2 since it's MUCH harder than the first one.

I've played Endless Frontier, but haven't beaten it, I think I was near the end game but was grinding out levels, then put the game down for a long while and forgot to pick it up.

There are 2 SRW games that have Tekkaman-Blade, W is one of them, but there was one that preceeded W...can't remember which already....

I remember Endless Frontier starts to drag on toward the end. There's kind of a point in that series where you've unlocked everything and have enough items to trivialize any boss, but the plot keeps going and going. I want to say X Zone 2 did things a bit better, area attacks are strong enough to be worth using and bosses/midbosses are a bit less spongy than in the earlier games. They also cut back on the number of attacks per turn, so you're doing 3-6 attacks per character instead of 5-8.

SWR is a licensing nightmare. If it ever releases on Steam, they'd have to make a new game that's specific to the western market due to licensing issues. (even if the game only has Japanese audio)

Closest thing would be SRW W since all those mechas did get official us release.

Alpha 3,J,W and Z-Z2 still the best SRW game ever

J! That was it! SRW J and Tekkaman-Blade, then SRW W also carried him over, but added Detonator Orgun (both are considered power armor).

To me though, J was easier than W for one reason....and the answer is in my own name....Zeorymer! Just as he was so OP in SRW MX, he was also VERY OP in J! He could solo run a map on his own. Was even more OP if you followed certain plot routes and it instead became "Great Zeorymer" which was a concept design only! Every single move/ability was another Hau Dragon move, so all his moves were 'boss' moves, ha!

To be fair W was too easy thanks to GaoGaiGar.

to me, no.

A lot of the newer SRW games are just spectacle RPGs and aren't really challenging.
3, 4, D were challenging.

My other problem is that now half the roster is just the same units over and over again.
Half the fun is seeing the new and creative roster of units, but since Z2 the majority of units have been in earlier games.
