Directional audio difficulties

I've recently been playing through FNAF 6 when I realize on my third day that I couldn't really tell which vent noise is coming from which. Even when I turn the screen off and vents I can never tell if the sound is coming from the left or right, which ends up being my demise.

And fyi I use stereo headphones

I was using steel series sonar for my steel series headset, this software was messing up the directional audio so I uninstalled it and that fixed it for me.

same here, vent sounds had no direction with sonar, no need to uninstall though, just close the SteelSeries app and it should be good (make sure you exit on the system tray). Thanks a lot, night 6 was impossible with no directional sounds, finally beat it.
