No, his design was just retconned. He literally grows bones, changed his skull, and is even more damaged, missing an entire arm now, and was clearly functional in the GF cutscene, seemingly only missing his pelvis and some organs. He also wouldn't need to repair himself if he had the mobility to locate parts in the first place.
Fazbear's Fright likely did not have any actual endo pieces other than Springtrap's. If they did, they could get someone to fix the parts, reassemble the endo, and then they could put a suit on it, yet we all see how excited Phone Dude is about finding Springtrap, implying he's the first one they've ever found, so Springtrap would have nothing to repair himself with.
1: Scraptrap isn't fat, he's actually rather thin, so no, he didn't use that suit.
2: Then why didn't he just keep the arm and replace the fingers with knives, which would allow him to both attack and have a functional hand, or just replace the fallen off part entirely with a machete or one of those chainsaw-like electronic knives? A short, stubby bone isn't a very useful murder weapon.
1.I meant the head, which was fat in the FNAF 4 Parts and Service room minigame, as it's the closest to Scraptrap's head.
2.For the first one, it fell off, and for the second, how do you think he would get that sort of stuff at a high value, and also stay inconspiculous?
