6. FNaF 3 - To me, the most lacking in gameplay but the best at storytelling through the minigames and phone calls. Overall not bad.
5. FNaF: SL/FNaF 5 - Like Badger, kind of disappointing, but still pretty good. The main game is lacking but once you get to the Custom Night is where the real fun begins.
4. FNaF 4 - Pretty fun and has the creepiest animatronic designs. Not a fan of the earrape though.
3. FNaF 2 - Very fun, very addicting, and when we first played it, had an amazing twist at the very end that it was actually a prequel.
2. FFPS/FNaF 6 - Amazing tycoon sections, very fun-to-play salvage minigames, and while pretty annoying at times, the nights are very well executed. Once UCN comes out, this could get boosted to #1.
1. FNaF - The original game that started it all. Terrifying jumpscares, simple yet terrifying mechanics and gameplay, and when the story was very deep, yet still pretty simple.
6. FNaF 2: Expansions to the lore were nice, especially with the minigames (who saw those coming first time around, honestly), and the animatronic designs were nice. However, the gameplay is very tedious and unfair, with the music box mechanic being the biggest factor in why the game is so mindnumbingly frustrating (that and there’s ten freakin’ animatronics on top of that), and the jumpscares were so lame that coupled with the fact that you see them so often from dying so much, they wear on you really quickly.
5. FNaF 3: Once upon a time this was my favorite FNaF game, but over time, I came to appreciate the others more. The only things I can really say bad about this game is that the jumpscares aren’t that scary after a while (mostly due to the Phantoms jumpscaring you so often and not killing you), and that the lack of Custom Night was disappointing. Other than that, I really liked this one. The cameras are their most useful yet as they are the only thing keeping the one animatronic that can kill you (good ol’ Springtrap) at bay, and the atmosphere is great, much better than the annoying siren noise in FNaF 2.
4. FNaF World: Messy launch, and not the most polished RPG, but it was still fun regardless. I especially enjoyed it after Update 2 added those stellar minigames (<3 Freddy in Space). Music was great too (Freddy in Space music, and Animdude’s boss theme are some highlights).
3. FFPS: Tycoon Mode was good fun, but I feel it’s icing in the cake for the office mode. The lack of cameras and reliance on audio made the atmosphere really tense. The only downside imo is the lackluster jumpscare animations and lack of ambient music in the background like in every other FNaF game. Couple with the great ending to the franchise (whether some believe it to be or not (not naming names here)), and we have a great entry in the franchise and a great sendoff for Scott’s FNaF games.
2. FNaF 1: What can I say? It’s the first game. It’s where the lore was it’s most simple, and when the gameplay was fresh and new. I guess the only thing I can complain about is how random Foxy can be at times and... that’s about it. Great game that spawned a great indie horror phenomenon.
1. FNaF 4: Basically take FNaF 1, take away the cameras, replace the security office with a bedroom, and bump the scary visuals (animatronics included) and sound design up to 10. That’s FNaF 4 in a nutshell. The lack of Custom Night and confusing elements of the plot that leave people baffled to this day are the only things holding it back from being called a perfect game. By far the scariest game in the franchise (probably the only game to consistently scare me every time I play it), and is a nightmare to play (in a good way), pun intended.
Even though this game really kicked off the story and franchise, this is my least favorite to play due to the fact that after playing the game for a couple hours you will be a pro with the very predictable patterns
6. FNaF 4
Forcing the player to turn up volume is an ingenious mechanic in this series, but how about no. Also this game drove one man to the break of insanity *cough *cough.
5. FNaF 6
This game had the potential to be my favorite, but Scott tried to tend to the people who wanted the tycoon and the people that wanted fnaf 6 at the same time. In the end I think this detracted from the experience (this is going to trigger people)
4. FNaF World
I would like to ban wagon with everyone else and put this at the back of the list, but my save file says other wise.
3. FNaF SL
I really don't have much to say just that this is an amazing game with very unique gameplay for the series
2. FNaF
Though it is not technologically the best of the pack it's the magical experience of playing this one first that me and millions of others felt that puts this at 2
1. FNaF 3
Look I know this one is a love it or hate it for most people. It's just this was the one that broke the story wide open, 1v1ed the series main protagonist, brought the best animations, and easily had the best and hippest phone guy
Hate the mechanics, soundtrack makes the breathing hard to hear, which gets confusing. Too much teeth.
6. FNaF 2
Wind up box, put on mask, spam CTRL, repeat. Mangle and withered are cool.
5. FNaF 3
Love the prominent use of cameras something that doesn’t happen in the other games. Literally just have to play audio in top right, and make sure you don’t look at the any of the phantoms. Phantom Puppet ruined the game for me, with its 15 second staring contest
4. FNaF SL
Main game is good, but frustrating at points. Secret room is fun and challenging, Custom Night is the best part. It was very difficult, and we got to see Lobit.
3. FNaF World
What introduced me to the series, and it’s is just a good time. The dialogue, battling, Flipside, Update 2 Minigames, and multiple endings, make it a game you can just play once to say you did, or get all endings and get the full expiration.
2. FNaF 1
Definitely one of the spookiest, the atmosphere is phenomenal, and the moaning and other weird sounds the animatronics make really add to the horror.
1. FFPS (FNaF 6)
The tycoon section is neat, and allowed us to see a lot of new faces. I loved that the player was the one who had to make the night continue by doing tasks, and it wasn’t just “survive until 6am.” Similar to World, I love the multiple endings and how unique each one was. With the addition of UCN, it’s gonna be a fun time
And to those saying 'WELL IF YOU LIKED IT THEN WHY DON'T YOU PUT IT IN FIRST?!!?!', that's because I'm trying to be objective with only a few opinions.
(best to worst, sorry)
anyways jokes aside worst to best
Fnaf sl Fnaf world Fnaf 2 Fnaf 1 Fnaf 3 FFPS
free roam is the complete freedom of movement within a 3D space
sl has limited movement and limited camera angles
sl is more like an on-rail shooter type of thing
