FNaF's 2600-like 8-bit is an exaggeration
So when I looked into 8-bit images similar to Atari 2600, I came across the actual specifications of the Atari2600 machine itself:

CPU - mos6507 @~ 1.22Mhz
RAM - 128 Bytes
GPU - Television Interface Adapter (Atari TIA)
Graphics RAM - 48 Bytes
Output Resolution - Analog Audio, Composite Wiring, up to 320x240.
Audio - nil(Integrated into TIA)
Maximum cartridge ROM Space - 2 KiloBytes (avoidable, but requires a cartridge circuit hack and/or knowledge of where RAM resides.)
OS - nil (requires a kernel written via ROM.)

On an Atari TIA, the GPU itself cannot support a sprite more than 8x23 pixels, a background map more than 56x78 (because the background is drawn via scan line updates,) and no line of pixels can have different colors within a reasonable space created by horizontal CRT beam updates. if you change the beam color while the beam is still travelling horizontally to fill a row of pixels, the line will have a noticeable rectangular shape. Sprites (anything that gets animated or moved actively) have a transparent background, but each row on its bitmap display as the same color.

Every time I hear someone compare FNaF games to Atari2600, I wanna say this, so here's a thread for it. The Atari2600 cannot draw a Fredbear even if it isn't animated. However, something like a Colecovision or NES could. It would make a lot of retro tech people feel a lot better if people were more accurate.

Thanks for putting up with reading this! Don't start a war over how "pointless" this thread is, because to me it has a point (unless this is really late; then that means people didn't listen, did they?)

;D

Well I mean, all that's ever talked about on here is theories and other weird stuff. It's nice to hear the technical side of things. Besides, who doesn't like 8-bit? XD
