Why this game is free?

It is not profitable and i cant understand why Scott worked on this game without wanting money . i feel like his work was in vein

Yeah but he spend money during development . If I know I cant obtain money from what i do i stop doing it . For example If i would make a video game i would be constantly working on new dlc , skins (IT doesnt matter If the game would Be free or p2p)

Compared to his other games, this was very low end and easy to make. This was likely a hobby game or perhaps him testing a new game avenue for a future and much LARGER game in this style.

He mainly just wants to do a nice thing for the fans heck he doesn’t even need the money he’s probably set for the rest of his life plus he’s working on a book and movie

I believe this game is made solely to be a conclusion to the FNaF game series. Our villain is finally destroyed and all loose ends of the tragedy have been cut.

Probably because he's made a small fortune on FNAF series already and doesn't need the money for a spin-off game. He released FnaF world for free and made updates to it later too.

IIRC, FNaF World was actually a purchasable game, but due to bad reviews and Scott’s general unhappiness with the way the game turned out, he took it down and put up the updates for free on Gamejolt as well as updated it for free for anyone who still had the retail version.

Scott said he wanted to make a free light hearted game. And he's already pretty stacked I could imagine

He really doesn't need the money at this point. He gets tons of money from the merch and all, and the series has already made him pretty rich, so I'd assume he wanted to make this free so every fan can just enjoy it, seeing as he didn't really need the money. I mean, he gives most, if not all of the merch money to charities from what I hear, so he seems pretty content with what he's already earned.
