AI really fast in a straight line

career mode for mclaren, i know the car in a straight line isnt the fastest but even with drs, hotlap ers, and rich fuel mix i still cant seem to catch cars on straights?
is this a known issue or is anyone else having the same issue as me ?

i have the same problem
I just cant seem to find any pace when playing against the AI , doesn't matter which car i drive they somehow catch up easily

I played 100AI at the end of 2017 and I chose to pick it again for 2018 and found myself being way too quick around Australia in the mclaren... I set the 4th time in quali. Maybe AI is just broken or something

If you are alot faster then them in the corners then it will be due to the AI using a lower downforce setup then you. The AI seem to like low downforce setups - could be a bug or poor programming.

If you can only just keep up in the corners and you are slower then them on the straights then you need to lower the difficulty.

You should not use hotlap mode when you are on the straight. Instead youse overtake mode, wich gives more top speed than hot lap

okay thanks guys, i gain on them in corners, but on straights they just pull away.
i was considering loweing the difficulty however in qualifying im ahead of fernando. i think codemasters need to balance out ai qualifying pace and race pace.
