DRS issues in new game

I have a G27 and have never had any issues previously with the game and wheel compatibility. In the F1 2018 game i am finding that once i have activated DRS it keeps switching itself off. Its as if the rumble effects are causing the issue so i have switched then off in the control panel but still it continues. I have gone back to 2017 and no problems, it is only this new game that is having the issues.

actually, if i recall i think i downloaded a workshop preset and then amended the controls and that was the way i stopped this.

This DRS issue [ not activating/activating intermittently/turning off immediately after it activates] is back again for me as of 6/15/19 .... I saw this issue several months ago, then it seemed to go away, but now it's returned. I downloaded and loaded a workshop car setup as you posted, but the problem still persists.

At the same time, I notice the engine won't reach full speed in terms of the gears. Get on a long straight, floor it, and where it used to wind up all the way to 8th gear now it gets to 6th and just stops there, as well as stopping any more acceleration.

I switched the buttons for Pause and DRS on my G27 to see if it was a button sticking or failing issue. After the switch, the Pause button (the old DRS button) worked perfectly 100% of the time, while the DRS still experienced issues on the "new" button that worked perfectly for "Pause" before the switch.

Too bad, I hope they fix it because without DRS the game is unplayable and might as well not even start.

Here's a new one .... I tried turning off virtually all of my Virus Protection features (the only surfing i do on this computer is done through the Steam app).

I got to a point where I could see the driver press the DRS button on the screen every time I hit the switch, but looking back immediately afterward showed the DRS srtill closed.

Then I un-iinstalled my Bit Defender completely just to see, and the DRS went back to ignoring my button press for DRS for the first 8 presses .. the driver doesn't even push the button again .... then on the 9th or 10th press I MIGHT see the driver press the DRS button, with the DRS staying closed afterwards.

And the car won;t get past 6th gear on long non-DRS straights.

Wouldn't want to have any consistency ion the game or the errors I guess. Thanks for the waste of time and money !!!

Switched my G27 BACK over to my WIndows 7 machine where I used to play the game ... started the game there again. True to form the DRS problem follows me to the other machine. This is the 2nd time since owning 2018 that DRS suddenly stopped working, once while playing under Win7 and now again under Win10. It's about the only consistency I've found in the game, other than being passed by other cars under the Safety Car Flag.

I've verified the buttons are working correctly on the G27. Different machine .. same problem ... the game sucks.

Do the game developers even care or know ?
