F1 2018 WON'T START

Hello everyone,
today I bought F1 2018. As i finished downloading the game and tried to start it nothing happend.
Steam showed me that it was running but nothing happend at all. After a few seconds the game closes.
I tried everything ( re-installing graphic drivers, re-installing the game, updated windows etc.) but nothing worked. This is kind of my last resort so I hope you can help me and I can race with my friends very soon.

Found the problem. there is a folder missing in your "my games" folder.

C:\Users\Computer\Documents\My Games (path link)

You'll notice that folder doesn't contain a F1 2018 folder.

https://ufile.io/gl3dk - Go to that link and download that folder and drag it into your "my games" folder.

it should work after that.

First of all thank you for your answer. I clicked on the link you send, but you said I should download the folder there, but the link is only for 'hardware_settings_config.xml', is that right?
What I did now is that I copied my 'F1 2017' folder and deleted all files in the 'hardwaresettings' folder ( 'hardware_settings_config' and 'hardware_settings_info' ).
After that I copied the 'hardware_settings_config.xml file into that folder, named the folder from 'F1 2017 - Copy' into 'F1 2018', started the game, in savemode just to be sure, and it worked. Thank you so much !

yes . if you dont have f1 2018 folder in my games put the folder there.
my pc had f1 2017 in my games but it did not have f1 2018 in there on the other hand my sons pc had both f1 2017 and f1 2018 in his my games folder.
i copied his f1 2018 folder and put into my games in my pc , started the game and it worked.
hopefully this will fix your problem.

just go here on your pc

C:\Users\Computer\Documents\My Games

if there is no f1 2018 folder you need to put there, if you do have f1 2018 in my games your problem is something else im afraid hope it works for you.

i fixed it, make sure that you have the 2 .xml file on document/my games/f1 2018/hardwaresetting

i know this is a really old thread but is it possible for you to post this file again? i have this same issue now and this seems like the only fix

i know this is a really old thread but is it possible for you to post this file again? i have this same issue now and this seems like the only fix

soz m8, no longer play the game, i only have the file for f1 2020, but i doubt it will work. however if you insist, i could upload the file from f1 2020 and put it on google drive. but remember, i'm not guaranteed it'll work for f1 2018
