So were you able to play this game with the Logitech MOMO wheel? I have used that on the F1 2013 classic version and other older racing games and it seems to work well otherwise.
Supposedly F1 2018 is the most realistic F1 sim yet, so maybe that is why it handles so different. Career mode is also much improved.
I don't really want to spend money buying a new wheel since a new Nvidia gpu 2700 or 2800 upgrade and 4K HDR TV are my priorities at the moment to get next.
If you haven't installed them, first go to Logitech's website and do a search for the Momo drivers. Windows 10 uses those to configure the wheel and pedals for Windows apps.

There is a short description what you need to do (cause it's Maсedonian website):
Go to the game's folder, find "actionmaps" folder and create new XML file "logitech_momo_racing.xml" with the help of the code from this website.
Then update a "typeid_to_name_dictionary.xml“ file with the help of next one code.
And run the game.
Thank you for posting this. I have created the file and placed in folder but cannot find the typeid_to_name_dictionary file to edit. Do you have any idea where or what that file is? thanks very much/
