So stop with the stuuuuupud 'Who needs VR' questions.
VR will only get better in furutre, higher res and away we go.
I feel sorry for you not being able to afford VR and therefore not able to experience the future of sim racing.
Most people who dont have VR say its crap, is just a 'phase', is only for 'geeks' . Most people who do have it say its brilliant.
Now tell me who the idiots are? Jealous I suppose, or just demented.
If anyone REALLY doesn't want VR, then dont bloody get it - don't criticse others who have it and expect games to be supporting it.
Codemasters is not really overlook VR tech (DR already has it since 2015), nor love it as the second coming of Jesus. Because it is not. Though every tech is a good step, not all of them is a game changer nor a revolution.
VR is what it is.. might make you nauseous yes, but so does a normal screen if you stay there long enough. This isn't a healthcare seminar.
People buy VR and they expect games such as racing titles to support it in 2018.
I don't fking blame them. I don't even have VR but codies are just lazy for not implementing it.
Anyone who argues otherwise is a KNOB.
That's all
You really just need to get your "VR legs". It's like getting used to sea sickness. I used to get it, I forced myself to play about 3-4 hours for 3 days straight and now I don't get sick at all.
It really is the future. It's not quite there yet because of how expensive it is and the GPU technology isn't there to run a high enogh resolution headset.
I myself, cannot play sim racing games without my Vive anymore.
I've already bought it but if I was in people's shoes who have VR I'd still buy it anyway and just wait patiently until VR is patched into the game. Considering the amount of content they've put in for this years game I'd say its worth it whether it has VR compatibility or not.
I'm not choosing any side in this debate as I understand the point of view from both sides but I don't think codemasters deserves to be slandered just because the game doesn't have VR support. They've clearly put something like that on the backburner so as to work on the gameplay experience (or in this case, revive features from previous titles) and graphical/physics engine which clearly needed improving. Having VR isn't the most important feature and is if anything a nice gimmick designed to enhance the experience, not make it.
Most VR experiences are gimmicks to be fair, but in flight sims and racing sims it's the total experience. It's not even a tech demo. It does exactly what it needs to. It's an incredible experience.
I wouldn't not buy this game because it doesn't have VR like some but I don't think i'd play it much when I have Assetto Corsa, iRacing, Project Cars, rFactor 2, etc, etc. It just wouldn't feel as satisfying.
I challenge anybody to drive a car or fly a plane in VR & then say it’s crap.
I apologise if the word gimmick insulted you as that wasn't my intention, I merely stated that it is an add-on feature and not integral to the overall experience. Now I won't deny I would love to get my hands on a VR set and if I ever do I most likely will say the exact same thing as everyone else is saying with regards to the enhanced experience it offers, but I do stand by my point that just because F1 2018 doesn't have support for it, it doesn't make it instantly a bad game like some people here are insinuating, just one with a less immersive experience compared to one you would get from other titles with VR support.
Really.
Do you know how little effort it would take for a company as big as codemasters to just implement VR for all the people who want it?
Unbeleivable.
I think Code masters games are great. I had their first ever game on commodore 64 (BMX simulator). I don't have VR, and I'm pretty sure I will enjoy this game without it. But i"ll be damned if I can think of any other excuse than laziness for omitting it in 2018 - especially considering how much VR users love it, and the fact that driving games are just perfect for it, and the fact that much smaller companies have added VR to their driving games already.
I understand you're upset because it doesn't have VR support, but there's no need to drag this game down just because it doesn't have it when the gameplay isn't massively impacted by not having VR support.
