Denuvo?
Hope not, it's a deal breaker for me.

No idea why the use it? Well, first thing you got wrong is the performance impact. Denuvo itself has minimal impact on game performance, if it affects anything, it´s the loading times, AC Origins is an exception and that was caused only because of double-layered protection with VM protect. And no, it does not promote piracy, even if there is performance impact it won´t go away with crack because most of the cracks just bypass Denuvo instead of removing it.
Cost is another topic where you are wrong again. Denuvo is dirty cheap. Like so cheap even small indie developers use it nowadays. And the fact that more money doesn´t mean better development is also important....
Denuvo cracked within weeks...well that was the main reason, to protect game sales in vital few weaks, but fact is Denuvo was getting cracked in days if not hours lately. But that is gone now with Voksi under investigation and since no other group can crack Denuvo effectively now (3DM quit long ago, CPY, CODEX or Steampunks no longer crack Denuvo cause they can´t do it the way Voksi did it and it takes months for them). So be prepared that no new Denuvo game will be cracked soon, if ever. You clearly have no clue in what state the scene is right now.

Not another drama queen...
Obviously DRM isn't ideal but we're not living in a perfect world. Denuvo basically has no performance impact outside of the initial load time.

Denuvo is disliked not just because it IS a CPU hog (and quoting one game is irrelevant as other games (Sonic for example) it's been shown to be an issue), but also because if it isn't removed later on, it could potentially kill off games if the authentication server goes away. There are many other reasons of course. Monster Hunter World was initially crippled due to older CPU's not being supported. If this happens again with, say, AMD CPU's being excluded, that's just anti-consumer. Sure a patch will likely come out, but that isn't the point.

Look at Starforce. For a LONG time, the developers denied any issues, but eventually proof surfaced it destroyed CD drives, caused many software and driver conflicts, and was just a nasty piece of software.

Crude DRM is not going to increase profits. I'm buying the game as I want it. I didn't buy many other games that had Denuvo because I didn't want it. That doesn't equate to a lost sale. However, apparently if you don't protect it, someone will pirate it - and that's a lost sale. Which is a conflict in logic as it's highly unlikely they would have bought it anyway. Sites like GOG have proven conclusively that non-DRM games will sell exactly the same amount as a DRM protected game. (Morals aside as that's not the same thing of course.)

DRM is a blight on consumerism, unless it can be done in a way that doesn't interfere with the PC or game performance 100% AND doesn't require continual online authentication before it locks the game.

First off it doesn't matter whether Denuvo is a CPU hog, I'm able to run F1 2017 at 60fps with Max settings on a 5 yr old gaming rig with an i7-3770K and a GTX 780 and 8GB of ram.

Where's the proof that the authentication servers will be shut down? Lastly when Microsoft killed off their Games For Windows servers, Codemaster stepped up and released some of those games for free. People tend to move on from yearly sports titles. I own every Codemaster F1 game on Steam and I rarely if ever play F1 2010

Don't underestimate the Scene, there are always new groups who want to make a name for themselves.

CODEX released a Total War Warhammer II: The Queen and the Crone and a Dragon Quest Heroes II crack in less than a week. Both with Denuvo. That doesn't probably mean they can get the newest version down, but they are seemingly back on track with Denuvo.

I really don't think they are concerned if anti denuvo queens buy it or not.

1st off all, Dragon Quest Heroes 2 was cracked by the Group Baldman in 61 days. Denuvo V4 - there are many so called cracks for games after a few hours. I bet there is somewhere in the internet a so called crack for f1 2018.. and its fake with a maleware if you are lucky. Next, since DBZ Fighters and FarCry 5 non game was cracked with Denuvo.
And even now after 73 days, they got JWE to start with a bypass, but the game itself is not playable... so still no crack....

And bevor those guys try to crack this game, there are plenty title with more people waiting for it, like Monster Hunter...
For me i bought the game, and still doesn't regret it.. the new cars are a blast, and even the good old Brawn GP from 2009, can still bring it.

Only complaint I have is that this was not listed on the store page.
Found out this has Denuvo whilst browsing the forum during install ..

Now I played a bit and enjoyed the game so far, but buyers should be made aware of this.
