Need more Princes, not Princesses
Playing as Portugal. My king is now old and he has 4 daughters. I checked at least 15 other kingdoms - they all have multiple princesses, but only one has a prince - a child at that.
Shouldn't male and female children be close to 50% each?

My uncle has 6 daughters, babies are weird. tbh I think women are born closer to like 60-70 percent since it takes one male to breed many women

Have you ever flipped a coin before? The nature of a 50/50 split is such that over larger and larger scales you will get closer to 50%. With a sample size of 4, which is insanely small, you have a pretty damn good chance of bricking all 4 coin flips. There are some interesting videos on things like probability on youtube, check em out.

I think his point generally speaking is more that having a prince is far more important than princesses. Considering what can happen early game if you do not have a heir, something i've just noticed, was this:

Had 4 daughters, no prince. King was old. He died. (at this point I have my begin province and two provinces that were still not entirely under my control, I was waiting for that)

So a nation above me, fairly large, decided to declare war the moment my king died. Okay, sucks. I checked his active wars and he had like 5/6 other wars going on. I thought okay, this sucks but I can manage if his attention is divided.

2 or so mins later I get a notification he was entering my land. I checked again, he made peace with ALL the other nations and I was the only one he was at war with.. meaning his 4 flags came towards me. I have one flag because I simply do not have the economy yet to support more, both food/money wise etc.

I get I just got unlucky, but it's really frustrating there's not much you can do about stuff like this.

I get it, not having a prince is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nightmare but that's just the nature of human procreation. ♥♥♥♥ happens. Especially in Knights of Honor lol. There are ways to mitigate all the things that happen as a result of these problems, they didnt' leave us hanging completely.

50% doesnt help u get sons, u need 100%.

u could get like 6 aunties before u get any uncle

Perhaps a given country could change the law of inheritance, for a price, to allow a princess to become a ruling Queen? As an example, look at Isabella of Castile, who was Queen of Castile from 1474 until her death in 1504.

If the second child is not born a son of the king, I load the game from the last autosave and a son is born. If a daughter is born again, I reload the last autosave and until a son is born.

Overwhelmingly the amount Princes born in my games are ridiculously low. I played 6 different games with friends over the past 2 weeks or so and every game through multiple generations, my king and queen would only birth princesses. I had 4 instances in the same game where my king would die with no heirs and someone from the royal court would take over with 3 princesses and only one slot for another baby. And it was always a princess. Its not a 50/50 split because other kingdoms in my games have the exact same problem, everybody has loads of princesses and no princes, but then there woupd be one kingdom out of all of them with all princes and no princesses. To me it seems the split is closer to 20/80 for Prince/princess ratio.
Would definitely recommend being able to do something more than nothing with the princesses in the game. They have skills and slots that do nothing so far. Or if you want us to be more historically accurate, remove the princess from the slot after they are married or offer a way to kill them with spies so you can have a chance at keeping your kingdom in tact. Its a more morbid idea for sure, but at this point I'll take anything

You can kill princess, when they are married to a prince from another kingdom, with an Spy, if you have send your Spy to the same Kingdom, the Princess is married, then you have a chance to kill them.

But if you don't want RNG to roll all Child Slots with Princess, there is an Console Command for it; add_child 0, will always add a male child to the selected Kingdom and no, it is not a cheat, because the stats are randomized, you only force the game to give a son.
(This was not a good move from the Devs, that they changed the child system for KoH2, because in KoH1, A King can always have 3 Sons and 3 Daughters).

It's pretty funny, actually. I wish we'd have a system to at least choose who the successor is in our court if we have no sons or bloodlines. I don't think I'd mind a Queen Regent system until males come but I think that would overhaul the game way too much.

If you want more princes you need to listen to the Spin Doctors more. Obviously.

"Your majesty, forget the king and marry me", is what your spy says to the princess, when you click the "assist elopement" button. :P

kind of a self inflicted wound and a serious downside to a patriarchal system. I mean its not like women , historically, weren't hard as nails rulers who crushed all opposition and brought enemy nations to their knees.
But yeah, my kings like to have lots of daughters. I'm on my second heir-less ruler as Genoa and nothing but daughters. On the plus side I have lots of opportunities to grab small nations by marrying my daughters off.

In my global modification, i'm trying how's it playing.
With 60/40 chance to birth a boy.
Male is 52%, and it very hard to find a princess as kingdoms get eliminated. Add to early dead and possible assassination, there a high chance that your kingdom will be divided at least once or twice in a game.
