But in general, the usual, you send in a Spy and check what they have sitting in their Kingdom. I find it more useful to know what they can recruit (i.e. what's in their armies often enough to not seem like mercenaries, what are their Barracks and Royal Armoury upgrades), rather than what they have in stock.
