Knights of Honor II: Sovereign

Knights of Honor II: Sovereign

Statistiche:
Is it a success ?
Hey, I saw that the game barely has 1000-1500 players in the evening. I know there are other players on gog. My question is simple : is this game a success in terms of sales ?

If not, it's a shame because it deserves a large audience. Personaly, it's my game of the year for 2022 and I don't understand why it's not really a thing compared to other games of the genre.

I play on this game on GOG and enjoy it :)
I was thinking the same thing . I'm guesting not doing to well active discussions of about 1,400 another game I play that was an early release 18 years ago has over 30,000 active . I don't think this is good news . I like the game and hope for some fixes . But if it's not selling the Devo will not waist the time or money on it .
Me and my 3 friends all play on GOG we just use steam forums cause they are much more active :)

I have no idea if this is high, low or okay for devs
Interesting RuneAldoo Have no idea if this good or bad news . Would like to know what the Devo expectation are for this game are , the Insight and Steamspy seem good . I would think #560 on top sellers is lower than they would like but maybe not .

I wouldn't believe sites like SteamSpy for everything.

So is the Devo meeting their expectations on sells , is #560 on the selling list good ? I guesting there are thousands if not tens of thousand game out there . I hope they are . I played KOH sense it was released and always hope for KOH 2 . The thing I liked about 1 was it was a simple game a good way to get a brake from reality . I always hope for more content (Like the new buildings and resources they added to 2) but trying to marry 0ff a prince is ridiculous in both games , why can't you add Nobles to the list ?
For a game of it's caliber, it is a decent reception since this is at most improvement on the original with a lot of QOL features added to the game.
I think they made a profit for sure, and there seems to be an enthusiastic community for the game but I do feel like it could have been marketed a little better/harder
Maybe the community will grow over years. I hope so.

I think it will for sure, between updates and mods and possibly DLC in the future. We can only get bigger from here =]

the 560 in top sellers seems low, but i don't know what mechanics drive that, is it just games published in the last twelve months or something else, would seem that it hasn't had a huge success. That is a shame as this is a great game, and one of the few games i've bought that hasn't had any major bugs upon release. Worth the wait and a great game, i just hope it gets the success it deserves, and we get a third one down the road
It's a sequel to a beloved but a fairly niche game, the reception is, imo, quite good after some people that came in with wrong expectations bounced off (and I don't blame them, KoH isn't and never was an alternative for either Paradox or Creative Assembly titles, but rather a clever remix of them with its own, very recognizable style that won't fit everyone's tastes), the marketing - I don't know, maybe that's because I've been following it since that first cryptic screenshot of a map was teased, but I had Sovereign ads pop up fairly often, game was in quite a few 'most anticipated' lists, at least for strategy-oriented content creators and there was a bunch of sponsored videos post-release too from the people I follow.

I guess we will see soon enough whether it was considered a success, that is if we'll have 'just' the promised couple of months of post-release support or DLCs and expansions. To be honest, I'd be most interested in something outside of scope of the latter, a series of KoH-style games in different settings, especially low or high fantasy, either an established one (rather low chances, considering licensing et al) or an original one. Something further in the past, early Roman Republic or Greek City States (think Slytherine's Spartan), could also, imo, work well with the Council feature.
