Army size
Hello there.
I have 4 generals with same skills, same skill levels and same armies. But 2 of 4 has less army size and I dont why. What is the reason?

You can get equipment that increases your manpower when your army is in a city, just like the siege equipment and extra supplies. If you have an icon that looks like 2 spearmen when you select your armies, that's probably it.
Check the province they are governing. The more castles the better for a Marshal because levies contribute towards each army manpower.
You can also use Town Militia if the province has villages as well.

Hover your cursor over the army manpower icon to see the stats.
Is this a clever mechanic of the developers? The balancing of the game is medium ok, but the random books for skilling the characters and this mechanic is only luck in a multiplayer game. If you get a 3 or 4 castle province in the starting lottery, you have much better armies than the rest (i saw army size bonus of 65% only by this).

And the random books are pain, too! Why there are no writers or buildings in our realm, where we can order required books? Or click away idiotic books for a few gold to end this random ♥♥♥♥? It must be possible in medieval to skill a character in the way we want it. Especially in a well developed realm with university, monastery, nobility and the fake ingame-library.

Would be nice if we could set a focus for universities of military, theology, trading for a few extra bonus of knowledge and books in this topics.
Basic schools would be great , too and 2 more marshall places and family traditions. The game is so cramped in many ways.

For me it would be perfect if the complex buildings like The commercial port give 1 more fix place for a trader, the cathedral (better we need a new building dome) for a cleric and the palace for a marshall.

Hope there will be a update or a dlc for more content.

I never played a game where I had two Marshals, forget about four. But maybe I played it wrong

Oh? That's interesting, I may go three Marshals if I don't really intend on focusing the military, I went for two in my Spy-heavy playthrough, but ended up replacing one of the Spies with Marshal anyway, because I felt too vulnerable after someone declared war on me while I was in the middle of attacking someone I dismantled through sneaky actions. I'd like to hear more about your playstyle now, do you just get your diplos/clerics to do the fighting in the time of need? I guess one could use a Spy as a spare red alert Marshal, because if you train him as an assassin he could use Archery and Medicine anyway.
AI will attack you with swarms of peasants and just outnumber you. If you go into battle you can beat them. If you autoresolve you will take lots of losses

I would suggest trying two marshals sometime, it makes sieges and large wars much easier unless you are going for 5 merchants and just spamming mercenaries (which is possible) but the mercs are harder to aim at a specific target :)
Lol i got 6 Marshalls, even that is not enough when u rule most of afica and europe. Chasing dang rebels all over.

You shouldn't have any rebels in most of your lands. Whats your crown authority and stability at? (Also what religion?)
