Knight Levels

My knights whether marshal or other never get beyond level 5. Is that normal? My king gets to level 15. I noticed princes will get level 10. How does that work?

You can level every skill to level 3 (times 5 makes 15).

I did the same thing for longer than I want to say xD I didn't see you could click on the abilities and level them up
