when I open the game, it shows a green bar with an error message saying "cannot find (japanese name) file" or something like that. How can I get out of this situation?

I'm doing my 2nd playthrough to get the final achievement and pulled up the hint paper when I got it to take another look at it, clicked enter too fast I guess, and now I can walk around and pull up the menu but I can't see anything because the hint paper is stuck there! also i'm a big dumb idiot and saved over my current save; when I tried reloading, the page was still there. I played this game approx. 10+ years ago, but can barely remember what to do and how to do it. What I need is to know how to get the INV, Action & Keyboard Options, etc. which are in most games of this type. I looked around the Discussions, didn't see any instructions at all.
