Question about Mimic and Deep Doors

Word of warning to anyone skimming this thread, it has spoilers to the solution.

So after some mucking about I randomly stumbled upon the solution of Deep Doors through pure process elimination and paying attention to the visual effects text makes when various interactions are taking place. What I don't understand is why TILE IS TEXT and TEXT MIMIC TILE will cancel the TEXT NEAR ICE IS ROCK segment. It's probably some property of Mimic that I'm not understanding, but I've tried wrapping my brain around for a while now without any success. Any words of enlightenment would be appreciated!

MIMIC means that it takes on the properties of what it's mimicking. So, TEXT MIMIC TILE combined with TILE IS TEXT makes TEXT IS TEXT, which prevents text from being transformed into anything else.
