Also the cursor isn't near any level simply because it can't go there - the levels aren't connected through the white line and it just stops me.
If the cursor is on baba, it does not need to stay on the white lines. It will go wherever baba goes, and can go back on a level simply by trying to move on to it.
As for your other problem, you can still access the level. While the skull has the cursor on it, simply go on top of the flag in question. When you press the button to start the level the game will ask you if you which level you want to start
Oh my god thank you so much, I don't know why I didn't tried that before it makes so much sense haha. Guess even the level selection is a challenge for me.
You made it to The Depths, so I think the real challenge you are starting to face is handling the game's complicated self-referential designs / puzzles.
You're right at that point where winning is generally easy - understanding how to proceed, on the other hand, is not.
