Cleaning up the last few levels on the map
(from playing on the Switch version)

By now I've completed most of the worlds on the map, and loved every bit of it, even when getting stuck on a level for days (or weeks). I've completed the Finale level (both normally and with END credits), and now I mostly just want to finish the levels that still stump me.

My current hitlist:
* Forest-12 (Lock The Door): Since it doesn't seem like Fungus can be moved, I probably need to somehow get Baba across the Fungus while a different object establishes Love is Win (and Fungus is Defeat). I was similarly stuck on Island-6 (Research Facility) for days before I figured out that it's one of the few levels where the solution requires proper timing.
* Forest-E (Insulation): Everything seems to revolve around ruling that Keke is Skull, but I am drawing a blank from that point onwards. Skull can only Swap three objects before the other Skull disables (then Melts) the Swap rule block. I know I can also specify Skull is Up, but have not found a useful purpose for this yet. And if I'm not careful, the Skull may carry off (and ultimately Melt) any of the Flag is Win blocks.
* Cavern-4 (Mouse Hole): On one hand, I have figured out how to remove Rock from its tunnel, but I cannot swap Key onto Rock as long as Rock is still Push. Or should I leave Rock as is and try to swap Key onto it directly? Because I haven't figured that part out yet.
* Mountain-Extra (The Floatiest Platforms): Attempting to repeat the solution of the previous level (Floating Platforms) only reveals that this Door is not Push, and I'm still trying to figure out how to get the Key across without losing both Babas.

Any hints on how to proceed? No solutions, please, just a few vague hints to keep me trying.

Maybe check out Baba is Hint? It's a hint-only spoiler-free guide. https://www.keyofw.com/baba-is-hint/overworld

Also, judging by what you've said you've completed and what you have left, I think there's more to the game that you haven't found yet. Take another look at the later overworld levels.

You're thinking right ;)

The title is the hint. Where does insulation go?

I've already found "Baba is Shift" to be invaluable ... I can set up an intersection of Bug/Belt is Shift but that gives me maybe two turns before Fungus is Defeat and I seem to be coming up at least one turn short of actually crossing Fungus. If I want another object to trigger that rule I need at least one Shift object nearby (e.g. Bug or Belt). Since Text is Float here, does that factor into the solution (compare the level Ruined Orchard) or not?

As for the level "Insulation", I can make Skull swap one of the text blocks off the Wall so it's available to push around and form a new rule with (e.g. Skull is Up). Am I on the right track with that? Alternatively, if I could get Baba onto the left side of "Wall is Hot" I could disable the Wall entirely, but that seems too obvious to actually work (not to mention I can't make it work anyway). I'm aware that if Skull starts on a Wall tile it can Swap an adjacent Wall tile onto it (effectively removing a single tile) but I haven't found a use for this. I'm also assuming that the Up rule text is a part of the solution?

Aside, based on a few (light spoiler) forum posts, I found the hidden world but got promptly stumped on its level 04 ("Mean Fence"). Egad, there is nothing obvious I can do with this one -- [edit] wait, nevermind. I already knew that there's no "Wall is Stop" in this level, but that was a solution I could've accidentally stumbled onto eventually.

Oh, and apparently I've completed the Map (as an area) now. That ... was WEIRD.

PS: Floatiest Platforms level is now done! I did look at the hints, and the clue that its solution would not solve the previous level turned out to be what I needed.

You are very close here. Text is Float isn't important, though. What can you do to buy more time before the BugBelt changes the rules? Alternatively, how could you buy more space?

The skull is the insulation. Experiment more with the interaction of the skull and the wall. Additionally, remember that Text is Melt and Wall is Hot; if you're done with a word, destroy it.

I like how that site gave the hint that if you think you are close, sometimes you are actually just barking up the wrong tree. Unfortunately the only way to tell for sure is in hindsight....

In other news, now that I'm past "Mean Fence", I completed several more levels in that area (some more easily than others), including the secret exit of level 07 (Turn the Corner) which opened access to the "Depths" area, which is ... getting REALLY weird now. Depths 3 (Crushers) really does not mess around ... [EDIT] or, it turns out I was totally overlooking that the Flag was already accessible in Crushers, and attempting to go for the secret exit all along. I finally found it, but I think I chose the wrong object. Will try again soon.

[edit] Lock the door, I figured it out! Much like how I was stumped on "Research Facility" for a few days, I did have half the solution and was just was missing the vital other half. Apparently if you stack two objects and declare them both Shift, they will shift each other simultaneously, effectively Moving themselves across the field.
